S.E. Hinton
Susan Eloise was born on July 22, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and currently lives there with her husband David. Their son Nick is away for collage. She is now 66 years old. She enjoys horse-back riding and is constantly reading. She is always walking the dog or wandering the grocery store wondering what she should cook for dinner. When writing she usually writes on paper then transfers it onto the computer. She likes to write about her husband and her son. She has written a variety of books including The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Tex, Taming the Star Runner, The Puppy Sister, Hawkes Harbor, and That Was Then, This is Now, and more. Four of those novels have been adapted into movies. Those novels are The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Tex and That Was Then, This is Now. She has won the Margaret Edwards Award, and the Anne V. Zarrow Award for Young Readers' Literature. S.E. Hinton, was and still is, one of the most popular and best known writers of young adult fiction. Her books have been taught in some schools, and banned from others. Her novels changed the way people look at young adult literature.
